Apple-Walnut Sauce


I got this idea and recipe from a recent article in a Parents magazine.  I'm not one to eat applesauce like my daughter does, but I have to admit this was actually pretty good. Not to mention how easy it was...and I like easy:-)

Apple-Walnut Sauce

Ingredients:
- 2-3 apples (cored, peeled and cut up)
- 1/3 cup walnuts (shelled, halved)
- 1/8 tsp. cinnamon
- 3 tbs. water

Directions:
Place the apples and walnuts in a steamer basket over boiling water.  Cover and cook for 7-10 minutes, or until apples are fork tender.  Then place the apples, walnuts, 1/8 tsp cinnamon and 3 tbs of water from the steamer in a food processor.  Cover and process until smooth.  Sprinkle with a little more cinnamon and enjoy.
